Lime Application

Better Soil. Healthier Lawn.

A beautiful lawn starts below the surface. Even with proper fertilization and watering, your grass can't reach its full potential if the soil isn't properly balanced.

Over time, Maryland's naturally acidic soils, along with rainfall and normal nutrient use, can gradually become less favorable for healthy turf growth. When this happens, your lawn has a harder time absorbing the nutrients it needs—even if those nutrients are already present in the soil.

A professional lime application helps restore proper soil balance, allowing your lawn to make better use of fertilizer while promoting stronger roots, improved color, and healthier overall growth.

Why Apply Lime?

When soil becomes too acidic, grass struggles to absorb essential nutrients efficiently. Applying lime helps improve soil conditions, creating a healthier environment for your lawn to thrive.

Benefits of a lime application include:

·        Improves soil conditions for healthier turf

·        Encourages stronger root development

·        Helps your lawn make better use of fertilizer applications

·        Promotes greener, healthier growth

·        Supports long-term lawn health

Is Lime Right for Every Lawn?

Not every lawn requires a lime application, which is why we don't believe in applying products unless they're truly beneficial.

If you're unsure whether your lawn could benefit from lime, we're happy to perform a professional soil test and recommend the best course of action based on your property's specific needs.

We also offer stand-alone lime applications for lawns that simply need a pH adjustment. However, for the greatest overall benefit, we often recommend combining lime with our Seasonal Lawn Renovation (Core Aeration & Overseeding). Aeration helps relieve soil compaction, allowing the lime to move more effectively into the soil while overseeding introduces new, healthy grass to take advantage of the improved growing conditions. Together, these services provide the ideal foundation for a healthier, thicker lawn.

Quality Products. Professional Application.

Stewart Lawn & Landscape uses high-quality granular limestone, which provides a clean, even application while minimizing the dust commonly associated with traditional powdered lime. Once watered in, the granules gradually break down and begin improving soil conditions over time.

Because lime works gradually, it's commonly applied during the cooler months as part of a long-term lawn health strategy.

Healthy Soil = A Healthier Lawn

Healthy soil is the foundation of every beautiful lawn. Combined with our 8-Step Lawn Care Program and Seasonal Lawn Renovation, proper soil balance helps maximize the effectiveness of every fertilizer application while encouraging stronger, healthier turf year after year.

Whether you're interested in a stand-alone lime application or incorporating it into a complete lawn renovation, our team is here to help you choose the option that's best for your lawn.
